Doha: Consultative sessions on the National Human Rights Action Plan (2026-2030) continued in Doha as part of ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive national framework for the promotion and protection of human rights in the State of Qatar.
The sessions are being organized by the National Committee for the Preparation of the National Human Rights Action Plan, chaired by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.
The latest consultative session was hosted on Monday by HE Secretary-General of the National Planning Council Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and brought together relevant stakeholders to discuss issues within the council’s areas of responsibility.
Participants reviewed a range of topics related to the preparation of the action plan and exchanged views, proposals, and recommendations aimed at strengthening its alignment with national policies, legislative frameworks, and sustainable development priorities.
The discussions form part of a broader series of consultations designed to ensure that the National Human Rights Action Plan reflects national aspirations and incorporates the perspectives of key institutions and stakeholders.
At the conclusion of the session, participants underscored the importance of the action plan as a strategic national framework that supports the promotion and protection of human rights and contributes to advancing Qatar’s commitment to international human rights standards.
