London: The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), and Edaa have successfully concluded their participation in the fifth edition of the GCC Capital Markets Conference, organized by HSBC in London, reinforcing Qatar’s growing prominence as a regional and global investment destination.
The joint participation highlighted the continued advancement of Qatar’s capital market ecosystem and provided listed Qatari companies with a strategic platform to engage directly with leading global asset managers, institutional investors, financial institutions, and market participants.
Reflecting increasing international confidence in Qatar’s financial markets, a delegation representing the country’s capital market ecosystem—led by the chief executive officers of QFMA, QSE, and Edaa—held a series of high-level meetings with international investors, asset managers, prime brokers, global custodians, and executives from major financial and investment institutions.
Discussions focused on key issues shaping regional capital markets, including market development across the GCC, liquidity enhancement, corporate governance, investment opportunities, cross-border capital flows, and ongoing improvements to market infrastructure.
During the conference, Qatar Stock Exchange outlined the latest developments in Qatar’s financial market, highlighting regulatory reforms and initiatives that have enhanced the market’s attractiveness to international investors seeking stable, long-term investment opportunities.
On the sidelines of the event, QSE also participated in the GCC Capital Markets CEOs Meeting, held on July 8, as part of broader efforts to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among regional exchanges and market regulators.
A major highlight of the HSBC GCC Exchanges Conference was the participation of representatives from 14 listed Qatari companies alongside delegates from 40 global investment institutions. The gathering facilitated direct engagement between Qatari corporates and international investors, creating opportunities to deepen investment relationships and showcase Qatar’s economic growth story.
Over the course of the conference, participating Qatari companies conducted 185 one-on-one and group meetings with international investment institutions. Discussions centered on corporate financial performance, growth prospects, and the evolving economic landscape in Qatar.
The strong level of engagement reflects QSE’s strategic commitment to fostering long-term relationships with foreign investors, many of whom continue to increase their exposure to the Qatari market as part of broader portfolio diversification strategies.
The joint presence of QFMA, QSE, and Edaa also underscored the close coordination among Qatar’s key capital market institutions in advancing the objectives of the country’s Third Financial Sector Strategy. Together, the three organizations play a central role in enhancing the competitiveness, efficiency, and attractiveness of Qatar’s financial markets at both regional and international levels.
Supported by a resilient national economy, ongoing regulatory development, advanced market infrastructure, and growing investor participation, Qatar’s capital market continues to strengthen its position as one of the region’s most sophisticated and resilient investment hubs.
Market depth, a diversified investor base, product innovation, and enhanced liquidity measures continue to reinforce investor confidence, further cementing Qatar’s standing as a leading destination for regional and international investment.
