Marrakesh, Morocco: The Shura Council participated in the fourth session of the Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions, held in the city of Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco, with the participation of parliamentarians, officials, and experts from various countries, as well as regional and international organizations.
The Shura Council was represented by HE Member of the Shura Council and Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie and HE Member of the Shura Council Hamad bin Abdullah Al Mulla.
The forum featured discussions on a range of economic and development issues of common interest, including global challenges to economic integration and free trade, investment in artificial intelligence, employment generation, and the impact of climate change on food security. Participants also explored opportunities to strengthen development, investment, and economic cooperation across the region.

Addressing the forum, HE Al Subaie highlighted the State of Qatar’s commitment to sound financial and economic policies founded on transparency, good governance, and economic diversification. He noted that these policies have strengthened the resilience of Qatar’s economy and enhanced its ability to navigate global changes and challenges.
His Excellency underscored the importance of fostering international cooperation and coordinated efforts to address the growing economic and security challenges facing the world. He also emphasized the need to advance collaboration in key areas such as energy security, food security, the knowledge economy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
HE Al Subaie further stressed the importance of developing legislative frameworks and policy mechanisms that support sustainable development and strengthen countries’ capacity to respond effectively to evolving global economic challenges.
