Doha: Big 5 Construct Qatar and INDEX Design Qatar officially opened at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), placing a strong spotlight on the nation’s construction and interiors sectors. The events are being held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and will run until October 16.

The exhibitions were inaugurated by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, H E Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony and toured the exhibition halls. During his visit, he was briefed on the latest technologies, products, and services presented by local and international companies operating in the construction and interiors industries.

The opening day witnessed strong attendance and engagement, alongside a series of thought-provoking sessions delivered by leading industry experts. Discussions focused on sustainability, project management, infrastructure delivery, engineering excellence, and digital technologies, underscoring the sector’s collective efforts to strengthen Qatar’s construction ecosystem in line with national development priorities.

The events unite professionals from construction, design, fit-out, project management, and procurement, reinforcing the role of construction and interiors in advancing Qatar’s infrastructure and strategic growth objectives.

The Big 5 Talks program on the first day covered key themes such as digital construction, modular building, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. Sessions explored topics including BIM and digital project delivery, next-generation AEC technologies, world-leading innovations supporting Qatar Vision 2030, eco-friendly materials, and the delivery of Doha Metro as a model for connected urban development.
