Doha: The Doha Design District (DDD), the creative hub at the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, has launched ‘Mada and Sada’, an immersive creative platform and spatial experience that explores the complete journey of an artwork, from its initial concept to its public presentation.
The launch marks the beginning of an ongoing program featuring workshops, exhibitions, and cross-disciplinary collaborations designed to foster creativity and innovation within Qatar’s growing cultural sector.
Created to support both emerging talents and established practitioners, the platform aims to bridge the gap between artistic creation and public engagement by inviting audiences to experience the processes, experimentation, and ideas behind creative work.
The opening event brought together designers, artists, and members of Doha’s wider creative community and featured a performance of “Msheireb Symphony” by acclaimed Qatari composer and singer-songwriter Dana Alfardan.
“Through ‘Mada and Sada,’ we’re creating a platform where creatives can experiment, connect, and bring their ideas to life—contributing to a cultural ecosystem that resonates both locally and globally.”
Dana Kazic, Director, Doha Design District.
A special session held during the launch was led by Samar Maakaroun, Creative Director at Pentagram and the designer behind the visual identity of ‘Mada and Sada.’
The discussion examined the philosophy behind brand identity design and its role as a strategic tool for translating stories, values, and purpose into visual and verbal systems that shape how organizations are perceived and remembered.
Through ‘Mada and Sada,’ Doha Design District seeks to strengthen creative dialogue, encourage collaboration across disciplines, and provide a dynamic platform for artistic exploration, reinforcing Doha’s position as a growing center for design, culture, and innovation.
