Doha: Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO) and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, met with senior international leaders from the technology, investment, media, and creative economy sectors during Web Summit Qatar, held from 1-4 February.
Discussions explored ways to expand international cooperation and explore new strategic partnerships with leading global institutions, reinforcing Qatar’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Investment and Technology
Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani met with Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, President of the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, and his delegation, to explore collaboration opportunities in major international platforms, led by Web Summit.
He also held talks with Prem Akkaraju, CEO of Stability AI, on harnessing AI for content creation and government communications and advancing partnerships to develop innovative, intelligent solutions to support innovation.
The Digital and Creative Economy
Sheikh Jassim held discussions with Raja Rajamannar, Senior Fellow and ex-Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Mastercard, focusing on collaboration in the digital economy and exploring partnership models that enhance public trust.
He also held talks with Kevin Mayer, Co-CEO of Candle Media on investing in creative content and leveraging new platforms to strengthen cultural impact and national branding.
Media and Shaping Influence
Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani held talks with Rich Bressler, President, COO, and CFO of iHeartMedia, and Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group, focusing on existing partnership initiatives and opportunities to expand collaboration in audio media, with a particular emphasis on original Arabic content.
Sheikh Jassim also met with several prominent international content creators, including Questlove, Steven Bartlett, and Chris Williamson.
Entrepreneurship
Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani held a meeting with Eduardo Saverin and Raj Ganguly, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of B Capital, focusing on collaboration to support startups and enhance investment partnerships, as part of efforts to attract global investors and increase fund participation at Web Summit.
Digital Platforms
The GCO Director also met with representatives of major global social media platforms, including TikTok, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Google, and Reddit to discuss potential cooperation and partnership opportunities.
These meetings reflect the GCO’s ongoing commitment to advancing international partnerships and expanding collaboration with leading global institutions, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 to build a knowledge-based economy.
