Doha: Qatar has launched the second edition of the Autonomous e-Mobility Forum (AEMOB), bringing together government officials, industry leaders, researchers, technology companies and mobility experts to explore the future of electric and autonomous transportation.
The three-day forum, hosted and strategically partnered by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport, is being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The event is organised by Just us & Otto.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior government officials and representatives of Qatar’s transportation sector.
In his keynote address, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Mohammed Abdullah Al Maadeed highlighted the growing importance of transportation technologies in supporting economic competitiveness, sustainability and quality of life.
“The transition towards electric mobility and autonomous driving is emerging as a defining feature of the transportation sector’s future. At the same time, the shift presents challenges related to energy requirements, digital infrastructure, safety, reliability, regulatory frameworks and the development of national capabilities.”

Al Maadeed stressed that addressing these challenges will require coordinated efforts and stronger partnerships among governments, the private sector and research institutions.
He noted that Qatar has made significant investments in transportation infrastructure, including modern road networks, the Doha Metro, public transport fleets, ports, airports and logistics facilities.
In line with the Qatar Third National Development Strategy (NDS3), the country is now focusing increasingly on maximising the use of existing infrastructure while accelerating the adoption of electric mobility, digital infrastructure and intelligent transportation systems and preparing for autonomous vehicle deployment.
Following the opening session, Al Maadeed toured the accompanying exhibition, where exhibitors showcased autonomous vehicles, electric mobility solutions, smart infrastructure technologies and other emerging innovations.
The forum features more than 40 international and regional speakers representing government, industry, academia, technology and research. Its professional program includes more than 50 keynote sessions and panel discussions across 10 mobility and industry tracks.
Discussions cover a wide range of topics, including autonomous transportation, electric mobility, technology, regulation, sustainability, infrastructure, research, public adoption and real-world implementation.
The 2026 edition also introduces community-focused initiatives, including an SME Competition, Startup Showcase and 3-Minute Thesis Challenge, providing entrepreneurs, students, young professionals and emerging innovators with opportunities to present ideas and engage with the mobility sector.
With more than 20 exhibition spaces at QNCC, AEMOB 2026 highlights Qatar’s growing focus on building a smart, sustainable and technology-driven transportation ecosystem.
