Jakarta: The State of Qatar and the Republic of Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) establishing a mechanism for political consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries, marking a new step in strengthening bilateral relations.
The agreement was signed during the first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and Indonesia, held on Monday in Jakarta.
Qatar’s delegation was led by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, while Indonesia’s side was headed by HE Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Anis Matta.
The consultations focused on reviewing the growing cooperation between the two countries and exploring ways to further enhance collaboration across various sectors. The discussions also covered key regional and international developments, as well as a range of issues of mutual interest.
The newly signed MoU is expected to provide a structured platform for regular dialogue and coordination, reflecting the shared commitment of Qatar and Indonesia to advancing their partnership and strengthening diplomatic engagement.
