Doha: The Juvenile Police Department welcomed a delegation from the Juvenile Police Unit of the Royal Oman Police as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security cooperation and foster the exchange of expertise among security agencies across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The delegation was received by Brig. Mohammed Mubarak Al Shafi, Director of the Juvenile Police Department, while the Omani delegation was headed by Lt. Col. Khalid bin Khamis Al Siyabi, Assistant Commander of the Juvenile Police Unit.

The visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of juvenile protection, facilitate the exchange of specialized expertise, and review best practices in preventing behavioral delinquency among young people. The initiative also supports broader preventive and awareness efforts targeting juveniles and promoting their well-being within society.

During the visit, members of the delegation were briefed on the department’s operational framework, preventive strategies, and awareness programs designed to address challenges facing juveniles. The program included a field tour of the department’s various sections, providing insights into its day-to-day functions and services.

The Omani delegation also attended a presentation highlighting the department’s responsibilities, key initiatives, and its educational and awareness plan for 2026, which focuses on strengthening community engagement and reinforcing preventive measures to safeguard young people.

The visit reflects the shared commitment of Qatar and Oman to advancing cooperation in juvenile care and protection, while promoting the exchange of successful experiences and innovative approaches in preventive policing and youth development.
