Doha: HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi met Tuesday with HE Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on Middle East Affairs, Zhai Jun, to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the People’s Republic of China and explored ways to further strengthen ties across various sectors. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, particularly the agreement reached between the United States and Iran, as well as ongoing developments in Syria and the Gaza Strip. Discussions additionally focused on efforts aimed at enhancing regional security and stability.

The Chinese envoy expressed appreciation for Qatar’s constructive role in mediation and the peaceful resolution of disputes, praising the country’s contributions to regional and international peace and security. He also commended Qatar’s support for mediation efforts between the United States and Iran and its role in helping create favorable conditions that contributed to the agreement reached between the two sides.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Qatar and China to promoting dialogue, diplomacy, and stability in the Middle East.
