The inaugural GSMA MWC25 Doha concluded successfully this week, welcoming nearly 9,500 unique attendees from more than 110 countries, marking a significant milestone for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s role in the global connectivity ecosystem.
Held in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the two-day event brought together government leaders, telecom operators, technology companies, startups, and investors to explore collaboration, innovation, and digital transformation.
The event featured approximately 250 exhibitors, 300 speakers, and more than 60 ministerial delegations, underscoring Doha’s growing position as a regional hub for digital policy and technology leadership. Senior decision-makers were strongly represented, with C-suite executives and directors making up a significant portion of attendees.
Throughout the event, over 30 partnerships and industry announcements were unveiled, reflecting increased cooperation between governments and the private sector to advance connectivity, AI, cloud, and emerging technologies across the region.
Innovation took centre stage with live demonstrations showcasing the capabilities of 5G Standalone technology, including a record-setting remote driving experience spanning more than 4,000 kilometres, as well as immersive, low-latency esports experiences powered by next-generation networks.
Startups were also a key focus through 4YFN Doha, which hosted more than 100 regional and international startups, providing a platform for emerging companies to connect with investors, enterprises, and policymakers. The initiative highlighted the region’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and digital talent.
Industry leaders emphasised the importance of collaboration in closing digital divides and accelerating inclusive growth. GSMA executives noted that MWC25 Doha demonstrated how the MENA region is increasingly shaping global conversations around connectivity, innovation, and digital inclusion.
The successful debut of MWC Doha adds to GSMA’s global portfolio of industry events and signals growing momentum for future editions. Organisers confirmed that insights and partnerships formed at the event will continue to support regional digital ambitions and global cooperation.
