Switzerland: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held talks on Friday with HE Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis, at the Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland.

The meeting reviewed the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and Switzerland and explored ways to further enhance cooperation across various fields of mutual interest.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region, with a particular focus on diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting security and stability following the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the talks, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Qatar’s support for the launch of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and peaceful means in addressing outstanding issues and achieving sustainable solutions.

His Excellency stressed that diplomatic engagement remains the most effective path toward reducing tensions and fostering stability in the region. He noted that successful negotiations would contribute to strengthening regional security and create new opportunities for cooperation, development, and prosperity.

Sheikh Mohammed added that advancing dialogue and mutual understanding serves the shared interests of the peoples of the region and the wider international community, while reinforcing efforts to build a more secure and stable future.

The meeting reflected the continued coordination between Qatar and Switzerland on regional and international issues and highlighted the importance both countries place on diplomacy, dialogue, and peaceful conflict resolution as essential tools for addressing global challenges.
