A delegation from the Permanent Web Summit Qatar Organising Committee paid an official visit to Belgrade last week as part of preparations for hosting the global event in February, aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships between the two countries and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading destination for technology and innovation at the regional and international levels.
The delegation, which included representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Government Communications Office and Invest Qatar, reviewed the economic landscape and business environment in the Republic of Serbia. The delegation also explored the opportunities and capabilities offered by Serbian companies operating in the fields of innovation and technology, as Serbian firms are set to participate for the first time in Web Summit Qatar, to be hosted in February.
The delegation also visited the Office for IT and eGovernment of the Republic of Serbia and held a series of official meetings with government entities, relevant institutions and private-sector representatives, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Development Agency of Serbia and the Science and Technology Park Belgrade.
The visit comes within the broader context of expanding international cooperation and exchanging expertise in digital transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation support, while exploring future partnership opportunities that contribute to the hosting of Web Summit in Qatar and strengthen its presence on the global events map.
